Privacy statement

What you make stays yours.

Diorama is a pair of Mac apps that work with files on your own computer. They collect nothing, and they have nowhere to send it.

For Diorama Editor and Diorama Player on macOS · Last updated 3 November 2026

01

Your courses

A course is a .drama file on your computer, holding the clips, pictures, sounds and words you put in it. Diorama Editor reads and writes only the files you open or create. Diorama Player only reads them.

Nobody else can see any of it. Courses are never uploaded, and I have no way to look at them. Both apps run inside the macOS App Sandbox, which limits them to the files you choose.

If you keep a course in iCloud Drive, Dropbox or a similar folder, or send it to someone, that copy is handled by the service you chose, under that service’s terms.

02

Network connections

There are none. Neither app contains code that connects to the internet: no usage statistics, no crash reports, no telemetry, no advertising and no third-party software kits.

A diorama:// link opens a course at a page on your own Mac. Nothing about it leaves your computer. Updates to the App Store versions are delivered by Apple.

03

What stays on your Mac

A few small things are kept on your computer so the apps can do their work. None of it is sent anywhere.

  • Your settings, such as whether sound is on.
  • Your recent courses, so they can be reopened.
  • Page thumbnails, kept inside the course they belong to.
  • Diorama Player’s copy of each course you open, kept in its own private folder so that links keep working after the original file moves.

Deleting a course file removes it. Deleting the apps with their data removes the rest.

04

What I receive

If you write to me, by email or through the contact form, I receive what you choose to send: your name, your address, your message and any details you add. I use it to answer you and for nothing else. I don’t add you to a mailing list and I don’t pass it to anyone. I keep it only as long as it is useful for helping you, and I will delete it if you ask.

If you get Diorama from the Mac App Store, Apple handles the transaction and shares only summary figures with me. I never see your name, your address or your payment details. Apple’s own privacy policy covers your dealings with Apple.

05

This website

These pages use no analytics, no advertising and no outside fonts or scripts. Like any web host, Hostinger keeps ordinary server logs, including IP addresses, to run the site securely.

Sending the contact form sets one short-lived cookie, which stops the form being sent repeatedly. Your message then travels by email through Hostinger to my inbox. The page itself sets no other cookies.

06

Children

Diorama is a general-audience tool for teaching and learning software. It is not directed at children, and since it collects nothing, it collects nothing from children either.

07

Your rights

Laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you the right to see, correct, export or delete personal data a company holds about you. The apps give me none. If you have written to me, ask and I will show you or delete what I have. Everything else is already in your hands, as ordinary files on your disk.

08

Changes

If Diorama ever gains a feature that changes any of this, I will update this page and the date at the top before that feature ships, not afterwards.

09

Who to ask

Diorama is made by John Bavaresco, trading as Its All Design. Questions about this statement are welcome at support@itsalldesign.com.
